The Grassroots Programme is BSN Grassroots’ flagship programme which is delivered on an annual basis to successful applicants. It is designed to promote and increase equality of access to the legal profession by assisting students from Black and non-traditional backgrounds to access a career in law.

The Grassroots Programme encompasses a series of careers and skills workshops delivered by legal professionals and is designed to upskill participants for a successful career in law.

Overview of the Programme

The Programme is delivered across the academic year (September – June) during which successful applicants to the Programme will take part in several careers and skills workshops.

Careers Workshops

  • Application Writing and Psychometric Tests
  • Interviewing Skills and Commercial Awareness
  • Networking and Professional Reputation Management

Skills Workshops

  • Negotiation
  • Legal Drafting
  • Advocacy

The workshops will be delivered by industry experts and legal professionals drawn from BSN’s network of Grassroots Partners and corporate members.

Programme candidates who demonstrate a high level of commitment, engagement and potential throughout the Programme will be invited to apply for BSN Grassroots mentorship and work experience opportunities.
